General RequirementsAny individual, male or female, who intends to become a Member of BARIC must
be a Sunni Muslim, who adheres to the tenets of Islam.
be minimum 18 years of age.
agrees to abide by the BARIC’s Constitution and By-Laws.
have strong determination and dedication to work for BARIC’s success.
neither desires a position nor solicits to seek a portfolio in this office.
have never been involved in any criminal activities, fraudulent activities or have not been convicted by any court of justice in Canada.
submits a written application on a prescribed membership form.
provides one references from persons who know him/her at least for 2 years.
The membership will be subject to approval by the Board. If any Member pays more than the prescribed monthly fee, additional amount could be used in future towards his/her membership fee at the time when he/she would have financial hardship.
Primary Member (PM)Any individual who meets all requirements of 5.1.1 and donates twenty dollars ($20) per month, or more, to BARIC is eligible to be a Primary Member of BARIC.
General Member (GM)Any individual who meets all requirements of 5.1.1 and donates an initial amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) to BARIC and commit to continue donating fifty dollars ($50) per month, or more, thereafter to BARIC is eligible to be an General Member of BARIC.
Founder Member (FM)Any individual, who meets all requirements of 5.1.1, was involved directly in establishing BARIC and has paid or committed to pay a minimum of Three thousand dollars ($3,000.00) to the fund of BARIC within four (4) years is eligible to be a founder member or a founder member turned to a life member. of Three thousand dollars ($3,000.00), a minimum of one thousand two hundred fifty dollars ($1,250.00) has to be paid every year. The membership will be effective upon payment of first $1,250.00 but will be cancelled if any member fails to pay yearly $1,250.00 on time. If any Founder Member fails to pay full amount due to financial crisis, his/her case will be reviewed by the Board. Founder Members will also pay fifty dollars ($50) per month, or more, as membership renewal fee which may be waived by the Board depending on individual member’s financial status. The maximum number of Founder Members will be limited to fifty (50). No application for founder member will be accepted after December 31, 2013
A Founder Member can become a Life Member if he or she pays another ten thousand dollars ($10,000) in three (3) years. A Founder Membership can be transferred to his/her family member subject to the approval of the Board.
Life Member (LM)Any individual, who meets all requirements of 5.1.1, is willing to donate to the fund of BARIC a minimum amount of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) within three (3) years is eligible to become a Life Member. Of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00), a minimum of Three thousand dollars ($3,000.00) has to be paid every year. The membership will be effective upon payment of first $5.000.00 but will be cancelled if any member fails to pay yearly $3,000.00 on time. Life Members do not need to renew membership. A Life Membership can be transferred to his/her family member subject to the approval of the Board.
Voting MembersA General Member, Founder Member and Life Member shall qualify to become a Voting Member provided that the membership dues are paid before the election and the membership is in good standing for a minimum of one year.
Only the Voting Members are eligible to cast their votes in any election. A defaulter Member can not vote or be a candidate in the election.
Only Founder Members and those Founder Members who turned to Life Members shall be eligible to run for Board of Directors and Trustees election.
The Vote can not be transferred to other or Proxy by other.
Obligations and Rights of MembersAll members shall
abide by the constitution, by-laws and rules of BARIC. act and cooperate with the Board to promote and enhance the aims of BARIC.
refrain from any activities detrimental to BARIC as well as the overall society in Canada.
pay the appropriate membership fee on a timely manner.
participate in various charitable and social activities of BARIC.
Termination of the MembershipIf a member fails to pay the appropriate membership fees, the Board may decide to annul the membership as a defaulting member. He/she may reacquire the membership upon payment of arrear dues and current fees and subject to approval by the Board.
Upon charges brought against any member(s) in writing, being filed with the General Secretary and upon hearing by the Board constituting a quorum at an annual or special meeting called for such a purpose, the member(s) may be terminated, suspended or expelled by the Board.
If a member becomes involved in any criminal activities or engaged into any grouping or activities that can cause a criminal record and affect BARIC’s reputation, the Board can decide to terminate his/her membership.
